Better Trauma Therapy for Children

Trauma Therapists in a Sharing Session

Children who have emotional and psychological difficulties arising from exposure to trauma will have a wider pool of trained therapists to turn to in the near future.

These children include those who have been exposed to domestic violence, bullying, abuse and the death of loved ones. As part of Temasek Cares – KITS (Kids in Tough Situations) pilot programme, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) plans to train 60 social workers, therapists and school counsellors in trauma therapy over the next three years, to help 1,900 children and caregivers.

This is the first programme under Temasek Cares’ “Stay Prepared” initiative, which aims to build community resilience in the event of emergencies.
