Stepping beyond the conference hall, the Philanthropy Asia Summit (PAS) 2025 — organised by the Philanthropy Asia Alliance (PAA) and supported by Temasek Foundation and Temasek Trust — offered opportunities to learn about and experience real-world impact on the ground, as well as to meet the minds behind the groundbreaking initiatives, through the following segments:
- Impact Showcase: Curated off-site visits across Singapore, providing firsthand perspectives on pioneering projects in climate, health, and biodiversity.
- Innovation Showcase: Booths featuring cutting-edge programmes and solutions that drive pandemic preparedness, enhance food security, connect impact projects with funders, empower smallholder farmers, and more.
- Innovation Spotlight: Dynamic elevator pitches in TED Talk-style, by innovators presenting their high-impact, Asia-centric solutions and the ripple effects of their work throughout the region.
Across these sessions, PAS delegates engaged with changemakers working in diverse areas, from artificial intelligence and smart manufacturing, to disease control and wildlife conservation.
Impact Showcase — Experiencing Catalytic Impact in Action
Designed in partnership with Temasek Foundation and the Temasek Trust ecosystem, the Impact Showcase provided deep insights into scalable solutions and cross-sector partnerships driving meaningful change.
Each of the five curated, immersive visits were hosted by the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH), Mandai Nature, National Environment Agency (NEA), and SunGreenH2.
PAS delegates explored initiatives shaping technical and vocational education, maternal and infant health, wildlife protection, green energy, and nature-based strategies for dengue control.

Impact Showcase: ITE
The ITE visit spotlighted the future of technical and vocational education, with immersive tours of its IoT Experiential Centre and Smart Manufacturing Hub. It demonstrated how technological literacy and industry-relevant foundational skills can go hand in hand to prepare students for their careers.
Participants also heard about how ITE is preparing its students for the shift towards green jobs amid climate change, as well as its upskilling and re-skilling programmes.

Impact Showcase: Mandai Nature
Mandai Nature, part of the Temasek Trust ecosystem, brought participants behind the scenes at Singapore Zoo, where they shared more about their work with Mandai Wildlife Group and other conservation partners to protect Southeast Asia’s unique biodiversity. This includes efforts in tackling the illegal wildlife trade, as well as caring for and rehabilitating rescued native wildlife.
The wildlife conservation organisation highlighted that achieving meaningful conservation impact — whether through species protection programmes, advancing wildlife science or influencing global policy — depends on strong partnerships with like-minded collaborators and active community engagement.

Impact Showcase: NEA
At the NEA Environmental Health Institute's (EHI) Wolbachia Mosquito Facility, delegates toured six specialised rooms detailing how Singapore is fighting dengue and successfully suppressing urban mosquito populations through Wolbachia-carrying male Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Attendees also learnt about surveillance techniques such as the Gravitrap, and wastewater monitoring and sampling.

Impact Showcase: SunGreenH2
SunGreenH2's learning journey featured its high-performance electrolyser stack manufacturing process, operated with their strategic manufacturing partner, MMI Systems.
PAS delegates explored how the efficiency and scalability of its proprietary nanostructured electrodes, made from earth-abundant materials, are enabling affordable renewable hydrogen production at scale while reducing cost. SunGreenH2 aims to make it easier for industrial customers in hard-to-abate sectors to adopt low-carbon or zero-carbon technologies and shift away from fossil fuels.
Innovation Showcase — Connecting Changemakers
Seven booths across three days of PAS offered opportunities for meaningful exchange, hands-on demonstrations, as well as a showcase of transformative programmes, products, and services.
Delegates explored exhibits by Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, the Amplifier mentorship programme, Co-Axis, Dalio Philanthropies, Infoxchange, Temasek Foundation, and Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory — sparking new connections and opportunities for partnerships.

TLL's booth featured initiatives such as Aqualita Ecotechnology's high-tech container fish farming systems, which enhance fish health, productivity, and food security.
Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory (TLL) spotlighted its key research collaborations, such as in insect biology research and net-zero agriculture and aquaculture — including the Decarbonising Rice Project, which won the prestigious GAEA Award. The project aims to make rice farming more climate-friendly by reducing methane emissions, conserving water, and increasing yield.
Other projects showcased include tomatoes grown from high performance precision agriculture (HiPPA), and fortified rice vermicelli produced in an initiative to improve everyday nutrition.
Check out highlights from TLL’s participation at the Summit, including the GAEA Awards Ceremony, a PAS partner event.
